The Daily Times: Man who swore Bush into Air Guard speaks out
The only people that got preferential treatment was when Jimmy Carter pardoned those guys that went to Canada
ESPN: The ultimate O-Line includes former LSU Tigers Kevin Mawae and Alan Faneca.

Look, Bush's war-management deserves ferocious criticism, but the notion that Kerry is fit to wage this war is getting more and more untenable as the days go by. He has sent signals that he wants to withdraw troops soon; he disses our allies; he shows contempt for a man risking his life to bring democracy to Iraq. We're in a war, senator. Fight the enemy, not our friends.
The Washington Times: Inside the Beltway
'We know we can't count on the French. We know we can't count on the Russians,' said Mr. Kerry. 'We know that Iraq is a danger to the United States, and we reserve the right to take pre-emptive action whenever we feel it's in our national interest.'

Kerry says President Bush is getting international cooperation in Iraq. Hmm. Does 25 member countries of NATO count John Kerry?
NATO said on Wednesday it had agreed to create a military training academy in Iraq, expanding the alliance's small presence in the country after two years of feuding over the U.S.-led war.
A Secret Meeting with the Enemy -- Whose Side was Kerry on, Anyway?:
Chapter 7 of UNFIT FOR COMMAND reveals that while still a Naval officer, John Kerry traveled to Paris for a secret summit with Communist Vietnamese leaders. The FBI was so concerned that they began monitoring Kerry's moves.
Can you say treason?
OpinionJournal: What's 'Illegal'?
Instead, Saddam threw out the U.N. weapons inspectors for four years, and, by estimates of the U.S. General Accounting Office, fortified his own regime with at least $10.1 billion grafted and smuggled out of Oil-for-Food.

RNC wants more from CBS News.
In an effort to regain the trust of the American people CBS should not only investigate the process that led to the use of these documents but they should identify immediately those engaged in possible criminal activity who attempted to use a news organization to affect the outcome of a Presidential election in its closing days.

Israel's unexpected victory over terrorism: How Sharon beat the intifada — and what the United States can learn
During those same six months, the Israeli army destroyed most of what remained of Hamas's organization in the West Bank and a substantial part of its infrastructure in Gaza. Just last week, Israeli gunships rocketed a Hamas training camp in Gaza, killing 15 operatives. Hamas leaders, who once routinely led rallies and gave interviews to the media, don't dare show their faces in public anymore. Even their names are kept secret. Hardly a night passes without the arrest of a wanted terrorist. Hamas's ranks have become so depleted that the organization is now recruiting teenagers: At the Gaza border, Israeli forces recently broke up a Hamas cell made up of 16-year-olds.
The Media Drop: "RatherBiased 'on the road'"
Sad day. Something near and dear to my heart, Purple & Gold is not printing a magazine this week and will likely have to close shop for good. I'll pray for Scott. The business was his life in many ways as it was for most of the people that were involved with P&G over the years. It was a great run though!

From the Baton Rouge Business Report:
Bleeding Purple & Gold is in red
Purple and Gold Magazine, the pro-LSU sports tabloid, has hit a cash crunch and will not be published this week, says Scott McKay, the magazine's editor and publisher. Meanwhile, some former employees are complaining that they didn't get paid and that some paychecks bounced. "My message to them," McKay says, "is this is an on-going process and we're trying to work it out. Purple and Gold is going through some cash flow problems and we're working to resolve those," said McKay, who founded the publication seven years ago.

Former employees, who asked to remain anonymous, say Purple and Gold hit hard times when the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation ended a lucrative arrangement for the publication, which is published 36 times a year. TAF formerly bought subscriptions to Purple and Gold for its members, but that arrangement ended this year. Herb Vincent of TAF said today that the foundation has no affiliation with Purple and Gold.

Purple and Gold has struggled in the months since TAF ended its arrangement, employees say. The magazine has bounced some paychecks, and is carrying a significant debt to a printer in Florida. McKay refused to comment on the details. "At this time it probably would be premature to make any comment on Purple and Gold's future," he said. (Tom Guarisco)
The Louisiana state constitution will soon read that a marriage is (and IMO - should always be) a "union between a man and a woman"
The amendment, the only statewide issue on the ballot, defines marriage in Louisiana as being solely a "union of one man and one woman" and prohibits state judges and officials from recognizing same-sex marriages and civil unions sanctioned in other states.

John Kerry is screwing up relations with our allies (see Australia)! What will this guy do if he wins?
Arthur Chrenkoff: Good news from Afghanistan
Afghanistan is preparing to take the first step towards democracy with the presidential elections still scheduled to take place on October 9.

From Dan Rather...
We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry.

Sorry to whom? The ego on this guy amazes me! Dan just can't bring himself to say he screwed up (almost) at the expense of the President of the United States!

It is confirmed, the 1st of the 505th is headed to the 'Stan to help support the upcoming elections.
Will Dan Rather also apologize to President Bush and the Killian family? CBS to Say It Was Misled on Bush Guard Memos.
If true, this is not good for John Kerry.
The retired Guard official, Bill Burkett, said in an Aug. 21 e-mail to a list of Texas Democrats that after getting through 'seven layers of bureaucratic kids' in the Democrat's campaign, he talked with former Georgia Sen. Max Cleland about information that would counter criticism of Kerry's Vietnam War service. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the e-mail Saturday.
