Don't piss off a former Army MP, expecially one who just got back from a tour of duty in Afghanistan and just wants to get a donut!
'I saw the guy take a pistol out of his pants about 10 feet away. I ducked and charged, and he shot me in the head,' Bailey said.

He said he managed to punch the man, who police identified as Green, and knock him to the ground.

Bailey said he was feeling dizzy, and as he kicked the gun out of Green's hand, he saw Pina get into his car, where he had left his keys, and begin driving it away.

'I jumped in the window and slammed it into park,' he said. 'She was hitting me, and I pulled her out of the car through the window.'

Bailey said that was when he saw Green coming at him with the gun again.

'I punched him down to the ground, got on top of him and kept punching and trying to get the gun, and he was yelling, stop,' Bailey said.
This can't be good for John Kerry.

KEvin Drum has false praise for President Bush. Or at least Mr. Drum doesn't mean to praise him, just to raise expectations for what the President will do during the debates. Bet the President exceeds expectations, again.
Iraq missions that work out are missing from mainstream media

'The Najaf shrine - HUNDREDS of dead women and children were brought out after Sadr left,' Rose wrote. 'They (Sadr's supporters) rounded them up during the battle and brought them in to be executed. Why? Because they anticipated the Americans would eventually enter the shrine and walk into a media ambush. We never went in. The people of Najaf love us right now because of that. They hate Sadr and want him dead.

'Have you heard that one yet (in the media)?'

No we haven't. We just get one side. That's bad journalism - by a news media acting in concert with Kerry.

Islamic Europe?
'The USA will remain the only superpower. China is becoming an economic giant. Europe is being Islamicized.'

There must be something to this 'Fair and Balanced' thing.
For the first time in its history, Fox News Channel beat the combined competition in primetime during the third quarter of 2004, with major headlines of the summer including the national political conventions and a brutal string of hurricanes.

According to Nielsen Media Research, Fox News averaged 1.8 million viewers, while CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and Headline News averaged a combined total of 1.7 million. The quarter ended Sunday.

Where's Flipper?
Commission on Presidential Debates: The first of three scheduled Presidential debates is this Thursday evening at 9:00 PM ET.

In related news Ben Affleck (the future of the Democratic party?) will host an all new Saturday Night Live this weekend. I am looking forward to watching SNL mock the debate. The musical guest will be Nelly for those that care.
LOL! Four cows escape from truck in Arkansas
'The driver said he looked in his rear-view mirror and saw one of his cows sliding across the interstate,'
Christopher Hitchens asks a good question...
What will it take to convince these people that this is not a year, or a time, to be dicking around? Americans are patrolling a front line in Afghanistan, where it would be impossible with 10 times the troop strength to protect all potential voters on Oct. 9 from Taliban/al-Qaida murder and sabotage. We are invited to believe that these hard-pressed soldiers of ours take time off to keep Osama Bin Laden in a secret cave, ready to uncork him when they get a call from Karl Rove? For shame.
